How to CENTRE Your Balance over the Festive Season

Christmas madness has arrived, so I will keep this blog short, sweet and to the point  as I know your MIND maybe filled up already with the to do list, presents, functions end of year concerts and  running around doing everything most people get caught up doing at Christmas.

However what ever it is you are pressed for time doing at some stage you will be forced to
 'CENTRE YOUR BALANCE'

In today's world it is extremely easy to fall out of balance, maybe daily, weekly or monthly. Your threshold will be different to your partners or friends, but you will know when you have lost your centre, your core balance. Understanding your own body's needs and learning how to fine tune your body is critical and it does take time. I have spent my entire life fine tuning, and learning how to find my own core centre balance, and how to restore, and rest my body at a 'CELL' level and now it is my job to help YOU!

Learning how to manage your amazing 'temple', your physical body and align your mind body and soul takes time, and requires tools, techniques that fit into your life and feel aligned to your mind and body. Working out your output versus your input is a great start. On my retreats and workshops you have the opportunity to explore your body and gain the right balance of tools and knowledge to allow you to live  your life with energy, vitality and a renewed happiness and self love that will keep your immune system strong and your body restored for longevity.

It is a way of life not a destination. The ultimate destination to living life centred and aligned everyday with perfection just doesn't exist in today's extreme way of living. Without even tapping into the pressures of today's world we have our environment that can off set our balance on a day to day basis.

NOW all you want now is to find out how you can centre your balance between now and Christmas and hopefully maintain the balance over the Christmas period. But lets face it even over Christmas you will be challenged with drinking, partying, shopping, over eating, spending over time with family and energies around you that may not be aligned to your own. This is the time of the year where we can tend to get on top of one another with school holidays and maybe not use to having extended families and even our partners around us longer than your normal living. In an ideal life or living the Yoga lifestyle and philosophy we would work together, breathe together without judgement or conflict.
What you can do is on a daily basis is use the following tips over the next month to regain balance and centre yourself. Looking after yourself is everything, the rest will be amazing!

7 Tips to centre your balance at Christmas

  1. Nutrition; Eat 80% RAW, VEGAN, GLUTEN FREE, WHEAT FREE
  2. Intention; Set up a daily intention, by sitting in a 5 min meditation before getting out of bed, connect with your breath. Focus on breath first and then think about your day ahead, set a clear intention for the day.
  3. Exercise; Move and Breathe daily. Help your keep your chi energy flowing. Get along to a Yoga class, Tai Chi, swimming, nature walk, paddle boarding, light jog.
  4. Meditate; Begin daily, begin meditation by setting yourself up for 5 minutes, then increase it daily. You may find a quiet spot around nature and sit upright first for 5-20 mins then relax into savasana lying on your back to fully relax, visualise yourself relaxation every body part, work your way up to the crown of your head. Meditation can also be used to balance serotonin and melatonin levels in cases of jet lag, insomnia and depression.
  5. Affirmations; Learn to use daily positive affirmations- when you can begin to be quiet in your mind you begin to hear your other voice, the ego or monkey mind that isn't authentic to your true self.
  6. Goals; Write your goals daily and turn them into a to do list so you can calmly have your Christmas to do list with you where ever you go. By writing things down it helps you centre your balance by downloading the information from your brain on to paper. You can do this at night before bed.
  7. Time out; Create a sacred space or somewhere you can go to centre your balance. The best and fasted way to centre yourself is always around NATURE. Touch the trees as you walk by, look at the plants, flowers and sky around you, breath in MOTHER NATURE. Nature wants you to feel balanced, calm, and at peace. Getting caught up in the busy Christmas rush in shopping centres can create negative energy in your body and stress.
My tip is to stay well away from shopping centres if you can help it.  My tips are to order on line, go when it is not peak time, if you are unable to get your shopping done look at supporting smaller local villages to buy your gifts like plants, herbs, candles and holistic gifts this year at Christmas, you will receive earthy and grounded energy purchasing the gifts and your family and friends will receive it also, mother nature provides us with an abundance of natural gifts to give.
