My Best tips for when you fall off track at Xmas

Picture
Its that time of the year, where most people start to fall off track with health and fitness. It is the busy period and it can come with it's challenges.

Everyday of your life, is a chance to get stronger, eat cleaner,  live healthier, think more optimistic and positive outlook so you can become the very best version of yourself. Everyday is an opportunity to
to start all over again, your never too late, too old, too sick, too
Brocken to get up out of self pity. Even when you think you have ruined it all...!

What ever is going on for you, weight loss, fitness, divorce, losing someone, or something....! Get up earlier and SMASH IT.

Your life is precious don’t waste anytime down in the PITT! ❤️

My Best 5 Tips for when you fall off track
  1. Mindset. Let it go, what ever you did is behind you now, instead of thinking you have ruined everything adapt a positive mindset by affirming to yourself "Yes I can do it"
  2. Food Prep. This is important, especially around a busy time of the year.  Xmas can be the time where people can easily stack on extra kilos. When you have your food with you where ever you go, you will be less likely to fall off track or be tempted to eat the Xmas goodies floating around work or at home.
  3. Training Journal. Set yourself a plan for the next day. Write up the times you will exercise, and your meals. This way you have planned ahead and committed to paper. Use a training journal.
  4. Team Work. Buddy up with a friend for early morning workouts or walks. This will keep you both accountable to show up. Never cancel.
  5. Stay Hydrated. Keep your water intake high to around 3-4 litres. Water keeps you feeling full and alert. If you are really busy at work and just can't get in the healthy food on time, then use coconut water to fast your way to your next meal. Coconut water will give you electolytes and has natural sugars to keep you energised.
Leave me a comment and let me know how you get on with these tips.

           Namaste

Hitting the forty plus age can come with its challenges...

Hitting the forty  plus age can come with its challenges when we are talking about health and fitness.

Nutrition & Exercise is the key along with  meditation relation, especially if you are mum juggling it all on your own.

You don't have to smash yourself with exercise, in fact I see more an more people into days world out of shape and smashing themselves silly working out, and often getting no where. It can become a vicious cycle.

I am here to tell you there is an easier way.

You are what you eat.  This couldn't bebe more true than ever before hitting the forty PLUS years. I can read bodies very well including my own, and know when someones lifestyle, nutrition stress is out of control. It shows from the outside, but what is truly going on for you from the inside.

Be aware of what it is you are putting into your body. Is it rubbish and is that how you want to feel? Or is it clean, pure, fresh, crisp, healthy food? Wouldn’t you rather feel clean and fresh and full of vitality? The key to healthy nutrition is one word: ‘simplicity’. Think of eating one-ingredient foods.

Why diets don’t work

What does the word ‘diet’ mean? For many it means restricting food to lose weight. This does not work. Why? Because when we restrict food from our diet, we inevitably crave it, and the more you can’t have it, the more you want it. Eating cleanly and taking a simplistic approach to food will help you lose unwanted kilos far more effectively!

Make lifestyle changes so you reach for healthier options. Eliminate processed foods and eat fresh and raw foods consisting of proteins, carbohydrates and good fats.
Most people who try diets fail because they can’t stick to it, or they lose weight only to return to the habits that got them into trouble in the first place, and put on even more weight as a result. Delete the word diet! It’s all about lifestyle changes. Quality nutrition, along with exercise, will burn fat.
From about the age of 25, your body starts to lose muscle, and fat can deposit faster than muscle regenerates. It is important to be aware of this process. We do not have to lose muscle, gain fat, feel tired and give up as we age. Educating ourselves, understanding protein and performing weight- bearing exercises are ways we can choose to have the healthy stunning toned body we once had.

Recreate yourself- Why not, doesn't life begin at 40?

You can choose to feel great for life and look fit and healthy. We do have the opportunity to recreate ourselves if we choose. A lot of the time people just accept they are getting older and accept middle age spread. You can shape your body and mind to look and feel beautiful for the rest of your life. Let me show you how.

PS Here is one of my fav raw vegan cakes I created for my second book The Power of Living Raw.

Banoffee Pie

This is my absolute favorite dessert to make. It tastes great topped with fresh bananas and the coconut yogurt adds a creamy texture. This one will wow your guests.
Serves 6–8
For the Crust
1 cup almonds3 fresh dates (use 1⁄2 cup pitted dates, soaked, if you can’t get fresh) 1 tablespoon maple syrup
For the Filling2 tablespoons coconut oil, plus extra for greasing 3 tablespoons cacao powder2 tablespoons honey1⁄4 teaspoon Himalayan pink salt or Celtic sea salt
For the ToppingCoconut Yoghurt – or real full cream…! Sliced Bananas  and fresh blue berries to decorate, Sprinkle cinnamon or cacao.
To make the crust, blend all the ingredients in the bowl of a food processor or blender until it binds together. Press out into a 10 in (25 cm) flan dish lightly greased with coconut oil, and press up the sides. Freeze to set.
To make the filling, melt the coconut oil, then stir in the cacao powder, honey and salt. Pour the filling on top of the crust, then freeze again until set.
Once the chocolate sauce is set, you can bring it out of the freezer and top with bananas, yoghurt or cream. I love to add blue berries on and a couple of candles if there is a birthday. YUM!

Are you heading off on a holiday soon?

Are you heading off on a holiday soon?

Winter in nearly over. I don't know what it is like in your town or village  but here in Mosman "everyone" literally heads over seas for a European Summer Holiday, so I have been busy prepping a few of my coaching clients for their travel ahead. I wanted to share these tips with you.

My two darlings and I went on an overseas holiday recently and these are tools I have taken for granted over my own healthand fitness journey, and  that I have practiced  for many  years without thinking anything of it.
I have to say my girls do notice and I guess raising them up around this way of life one day down the track when they are older or heading off on an overseas holiday as an adult hopefully they will remember some helpful tips.

Here is what body building helped me to learn back in my twenties. I travelled a lot for work and it had to become part of my life to pack and organise ahead how I was going to travel, eat out, and stay on track.

Let me know how you go, just reply to the email and touch base anytime. I welcome your feedback and love to hear how you are.

By the way if you are feeling off track or needing a kick start do let me know so we can hop on a call together and discuss you goals.

Travel Tips

Every gone away on that dream holiday and returned a few kg heavier. It happens to all of us, especially if you are flying far. Just stepping on the plane your fluid retention goes up. Which means the scales go up?
You know how passionate I am about throwing the scales away and using the mirror or your clothes as a guide. When you can look in the mirror and see health vitality and a fit toned slender body coming back at you, you have won. It doesn’t matter what the scales say. Try not to define yourself by a number, who cares what that number is. We are all different, sizes, height, bone density. Muscle weighs heavier than fat, it is a fact. So, while you are travelling you may increase your weight a little so it is very important NOT weigh yourself on your arrival home.

Check out all my travelling tips to keep you fit, healthy and feeling happy and amazing while travelling so you can enjoy the fullness of you holiday.

Week prior travel

I have eaten very clean all the way to LA choosing the vegan option with raw fresh humus and fresh
raw vegetables sticks and fruit served by ordering ahead through my airline.
  1. Pre-order Vegan Option with your airline.
The day of travel and for the plane
  2. Important to prepare all your food the night before just like you would normally.
  3. Pack solids rather than liquids as you cannot get through international security with fluids
  4. As a tip, you can make a green juice/smoothie to take to the airport but be prepared to have this finished by security.
  5. Eat as structured as you can be leading up to your flight, and the day before, knowing that the day of travel wont quite be the same.
  6. Even though you have ticked vegan, don’t ever rely on plane food to be exactly as you anticipated. Pack your back up plan, see below.
  7. Take a food bag specifically for your healthy nutrition and tea cup with plenty of herbal teas, so you can sit back relax with all your comforts
What food & drinks to pack for the plane
I travel a lot and when I was competing in Fitness Comps in my 20’s over 20 years ago I learnt fast never to trust plane food, I did this every time and still do today.
  • Pack protein powder, in a container you can easily mix –see my shakers
  • Pack your green tea sachets or green tea bags + camomile tea for sleep time
  • Punnet of strawberries are great for sweet tooth moments
  • Dried dates, but not too many, depending on length of the flight, 5 dates should be
    plenty
  • Mix of nuts & seeds, goji berries
  • Water can be tricky, I always try to remember to buy a litre once through the
security, as you just never seem to get enough water on the plane in to your body.
  • Pack a throw away container of Fresh greens, I take spinach leaves as you can roll
the dates and almond in the spinach.
  • If you are eating protein, pack 1-2 chicken breast pre-sliced or diced. (fish too smelly)
  • Don’t worry too much about carbs as you are sitting and relaxing, you don’t need the
heavier carbs, but if you are travelling with your hubby or partner, you could pack a container of sweet potato chips pre-baked the night before with rosemary, coconut oil and Himalayan salt. This would be a good idea when you are on a 12-hour flight.
  • Have a sweet tooth- you could always pack a raw vegan protein ball (see recipe)

    More Travel Tips

Eliminate jet lag tip- I have tested and tried this

    • No bread, carbs, only wat fruit and vegetables, load up on water and herbal teas
    • Listen to meditation music and meditate
    • Stretch on the plane and move every so often.
    • Set your time clock and time zone best you can straight away so
you can trick your mind you have switched time zones.
    • Healthy Nutrition Meditation and Sleep is the key
